Island Ridge

Join us for a hike up on Island Ridge.
This is a short but at times steep hike up to a viewful ridge south of Island Lake and the Crowsnest Pass. The start of the hike is just over 3 km up the road to Tent Ridge. There is no trail. We work our way up the ridge until we get out into the open. We then follow mostly grassy slopes up to the broad summit.
Although it is a short hike in terms of distance, the hike is rated moderate due to the elevation gain and there being no trail through the trees.
Expect views east and west through the pass as well as to Sentry, Philipps and Tecumseh mountains nearby. The event picture, taken on 29th June 2017, shows the view NE from the summit of Island Ridge.

Round trip distance 3.5 km
