Members and friends,
Crowsnest Outdoors is definitely experiencing some impressive traction within our community and awareness of our hikes is at an all time high. This is amazing and flattering but also presents some challenges for volunteer leads. Let’s talk Mt. Ward.
June 23rd’s scheduled hike for Mt. Ward is cancelled. With some two dozen people expected to show up for this hike, your organizer Cole is left feeling uneasy about group size on a difficult hike with scrambling involved and his injured Achilles.
We have also temporarily cancelled the July 1 hike up Mt. Ward but will repost for the same date as a members only hike. Our reality is that we’re going to have to test out some new methods for keeping group sizes reasonable on some key hikes for the short term and perhaps all hikes longer term. Once we have established a cap and an RSVP system for this hike, we will repost.
We want to share the best outdoor spaces that the Crowsnest Pass region has with as many people as possible. Ensuring that our volunteer leads feel comfortable sharing these amazing spots with you and your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities.
If you have any questions, please reach out to us using our Contact form.
Thank you so much for your understanding!
